Palmer PDI03JB Joe Bonamassa Signature

The Palmer Audio PDI03JB is a Speaker Simulator with a professional Passive DI Box for Guitar amps. Designed by the legendary Joe Bonamassa, Palmer brings you this special edition DI box with quality specs and features.

Joe Bonamassa’s standards are high. Therefore the PDI03JB duel speaker simulator filters are carefully voiced to authentically replicate the frequency response of classic loudspeakers and cabinets.

Useful Versatility

The PDI03JB is very useful in live performances, recording studios, and/or home recording applications. Additionally, the benefit of using the PDI03JB is that you can eliminate the need for time-consuming microphone placement surrounding your cabinet. This also eradicates any associated issues with mic-related problems.

If you find yourself in a small venue with an inexperienced sound engineer, the PDI03JB is your closest ally. Because you eliminate the need to mic up your cabinet,  you can run guitar amps straight into the mixing desk. For example; you would connect your guitar into an amplifier, amplifier into the PDI03JB, and the PDI03JB into the mixing console.

Alternatively, you can also send a signal back into your cabinet by utilizing the ‘Thru Output’ on the PDI03JB. As a result, using the ‘Thru’ signal feature will essentially send your guitar signal back into your cabinet for live monitoring purposes.

Speakerless Setup

When connecting your amplifier without speakers, requires a dummy load that matches the impedance. This will avoid causing harm to your equipment. By removing the speaker from the equation you must find an alternative to carry the amplifier load. Palmer recommends the Palmer Power Attenuator PDI06 and the Palmer Dual Load Box PLB2X8 for this situation.

Live and Direct-Recording Applications

For live use; you will benefit from using the PDI03JB, as it delivers consistent guitar tones from show to show. Additionally, if you are using the PDI03JB in a studio environment; you can take advantage of the realistic speaker flavors, preamps, and dirt boxes.

You can connect amps up to 200watts to the PDI03JB. Line and Instrument levels, which are also taken into consideration.

Palmer Audio PDI03JB Build Quality

Palmer has a great reputation for rugged designs. Featuring a Powder-coated steel enclosure and a high-quality Amphenol connector.
